Assamese name : Lajuki lota (লাজুকী লতা) / Nilaji bon (নিলাজী বন)

English name : Touch me not, sensitive plant, sleepy plant, shame plant, shy plant etc.

Binomial name : Mimosa pudica L.

Lajuki lota is a creeping annual flowering plant grows in the tropical regions in open wastelands, agricultural lands and on roadsides. The plant closes its leaves when touched.

Lajuki bon plant is used as a medicinal plant in Ayurveda from ancient times in the treatment of dysentery, urogenital dis.orders, piles, sinus etc.
